Surah Al Qadr (part 1)
Surah al Qadr talks about the most special night in Ramadan, a night which every single Muslim looks forward to during the blessed month.
بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ



(1) إِنَّآ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ فِي لَيۡلَةِ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ
We sent it down on the Night of Decree
(2) وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا لَيۡلَةُ ٱلۡقَدۡر
But what will convey to you what the Night of Decree is?
(3)لَيۡلَةُ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ خَيۡرٞ مِّنۡ أَلۡفِ شَهۡرٖ
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
Benefits of fasting in Ramadan
The Virtues of Ramadan and Sawm
When Muslims fast during the month of Ramadan, they gain many benefits. Some benefits are:
- In Ramadan the doors of Jannah (Paradise) are opened and the doors of Jahannam (Hell) are closed.
- There is a special door in Paradise called Ar-Rayyaan. Only those who have fasted will enter Paradise through Ar-Rayyaan.
- The du’aa of a fasting person is accepted.
- Sawm is a shield against Hellfire.
- Allah forgives the sins of the one who fasts.
- Allah rewards the fasting person.
