Sawm of Ramadan
Sawm of Ramadan: The Fourth Pillar.
- Sawm means not eating or drinking from dawn until sunset.
- Muslims must fast for the entire month of Ramadan.
- The day after Ramadan, Muslims celebrate ‘Eed al-Fitr.
- The Night of Power (laylat alqadr) occurs in Ramadan’s 10 final days. It was advised by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to “Look for it in the odd nights of the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan.”
