Surah Al Asr
- The surah talks about belief, good actions, patience, and calling people towards good.
- Allah takes an oath by time that man is at a loss.
- Except those who believe and do good deeds, those who help each other with the truth, and those who help each other with patience.



بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
(1) وَٱلۡعَصۡرِ
By Time
(2)إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ لَفِي خُسۡرٍ
The human being is in loss
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلۡحَقِّ
وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلصَّبۡرِ(3)
Except those who believe, and do good works, and encourage truth, and recommend patience.
Zakah is an ‘Ibaadah
- Obeying the Orders of Allaha is an ‘ibaadah (worship).
- Allah commands Muslims to give Zakah.
- The Prophet has mentioned Zakah as one of the pillars of Islam.
- Zakah is an ‘ibaadah (worship)

There are two types of Zakah:
- Zakah al-Maal. It is given once a year. Muslims who have more than they need must give it.
- Zakah al-Fitr. It is given at the end of Ramadan.
