How to Perform Salah
Before Muslims pray they must:
- Be in a state of wudoo’.
- Cover the necessary parts of their bodies.
- Face the qiblah, which is the direction of prayer
- know the correct time for Salah.
- Have the correct intention.

The prayer is performed in the following way:
- Raising the hands saying Allaahu Akbar (takbeer).
- Placing the right hand over the left on the chest.
- Saying the opening du’aa quietly.
- Seeking refuge in Allah from Shaytaan.
- Reciting Soorah al-Faatihah and a short soorah after it.
- Going into rukoo’.
- Going into sujood.
- Coming back up again.
- Sitting up.
- Doing sujood again.
- Reciting tashahhud and salawaat.
- Finally, making tasleem to the right then to the left.
